    The whole family can enjoy watching and getting involved in other events including:

    Gem Panning for children (a free hands-on activity)
    Pendant Making - Children can learn how to make a Soapstone Pendant (a free hands-on activity). Children will keep the pendant after making it!
    Geode Cutting - Buy a Geode and watch while we saw it open for you for free.  Geodes are the rocks with a "surprise within."
    The Treasure Hunt gives children a chance to look for certain specimens in the display cases and win a prize.
