The El Dorado Mineral and
Gem Society's participation in the annual county fair
includes displaying minerals, lapidary, jewelry work,
and educational exhibits. The
club coordinates the exhibit setup and provides hosts
and hostesses for the mineral displays and school
tour groups.
Exhibits
Our club generally
hosts over
30
displays including worldwide minerals,
lapidary, jewelry, self-collected specimens, fossils and
artifacts. We also
show photos and samples of rocks and minerals collected on
our many field trips. Mining maps, photos, mineral posters and an other
educational
material is part of our display.
Both children and
adults enjoy getting our grab bags
from
year to year.
Donations from the grab bags go toward our Education and Scholarship Programs.
